Does anyone have a picture of the mounting bracket that the hydraulic filter attaches to? I don't want to remove my filter to look at it if i don't have to.

Thanks
Randy

You mean like the housing it screws onto? why don't you want to remove it? should be a spin on and wont hurt nothing to take it off

My 200 hr service is still 20 hrs away, was hoping someone had a picture of the mtg. bracket. I am looking at some options for a less expensive, equivalent filter. I have located an 99% exact duplicate that is half the cost of the Mahindra filter. I have located a couple others that might work that are as much as 15% of the Mahindra filter. Won't know for sure until i know more about the mtg. bracket.
Will post my findings when complete.

I would not do it. Proceed at your own risk. After market filter failures on tractors can be quite costly.

^ I agree... sounds like a lot of trouble and risk for something you will change once a year

a lot less than once a year if he's like the average user who puts on 50-100 hrs/year on a tractor that size.

I am not trying to offend anyone, just make a point.

I have a few responses;

1 is a legit question.
1 warning me i should not do it - I am investigating equivalent filters. The only thing special about the $100 Mahindra filter is that it is $80 over priced
1 agreeing with previous post
1 telling me that most people only put 100hrs\yr on their tractor

NOT any with a picture of the Bracket that the filter attaches to,which is what i ask for.

Go to wix.com and insert the Mahindra 2816 info into the filter lookup and it will tell you that the wix 57118 is the hydraulic filter. I searched it on amazon and found it for $60
Then compare it to the wix #57098 in the wix product specifications, same flow, same exact sizes(H and dia), enhanced cellulose in place of cellulose media, 32microns instead of 35microns. $30 on amazon

IF the mounting bracket has a slightly smaller ID than the 3.100" ID of the gaskets above, there MIGHT be even lesser cost filters with the same flow, pressure rating, micron filtration that cost as little as $8

I don't like tossing my money away. If i can find a filter that is EQUIVALENT to the Wix 57118 for $8 i would change it twice a season and my T.Fluid yearly ( i did put 180 hours on mine last year.

If anyone has a picture please send it to me. IF no one has a picture, i will answer the above question when i do my 200 hr service next week.

For what its worth: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/mahindra-owning-operating/248503-i-dont-like-but-you.html

I don't like it but you better use Mahindra filters

I read your post, i read his post. Neither of which contain a picture or the mtg. bracket i ask for.

As far as using a different filter than Mfg. recommended, i would not advise it either, unless you do some homework and make sure the filter being used has the same specs..
In the above referenced post, it appears to me the guy may have used a filter that did not meet the physical size requirements that were needed to seal out the dirt. Maybe someone gave him the wrong number and he didn't use common sense? or check it himself?

No picture, so don't scold me for that. But in the time it has taken you to tell folks they should send a picture, you could have spun that filter off and taken a picture...

Anyway, you seem like you are going at this pretty proper like. And you realize that just because a filter will fit does not mean it is correct. Media type, micron rating, pressure relief/bypass if any, etc. There is quite a bit to this, but you are savvy. Folks will often not be careful and will use something that physically mounts but is wrong and it gets them in trouble.

Finally, and most importantly, the hydraulic filter for your tractor list for $38 via Mahindra. They used to be much more, but the prices have been lowered. Folks like yourself will find a similar replacement for much less, we give that feedback to MUSA and every once in a while, we see a price go down.

So no picture, but you can now buy almost 3 of these filters for $100. I'd stay with OEM at that price.
