Yesterday much to my dismay I found that the hoses from the FEL has taken the paint and decal from part of the hood. To fix this problem I had to weld a bracket to the hose cover on the FEL and adjust it for full lifting without binding the hose assembly, so far so good. The next bigger thing I found when I removed the cover to fix the other issue was wear from the two bolts to two of the hoses that hold the cover for the hoses, looking at the picture you can see the flat spot on the hose so here my fix was to take about 1/2 inch of old gas line and cut a section to slide over the bolts to help prevent any more wear. Attached some pictures to show what I found and how in my case I fixed it.

Something else I also found after looking again at them which is also causing my hoses to show the wear and which may only be with my FEL and the guy who welded the bolt onto the FEL arm.
As usual instead of spending 5 cent more by drilling and tapping the bolt for the cover they welded and left a lot of extra weld material and then didn't bother to grind any off. So went you tighten the cover down it puts the weld bulge right against the hoses and then vibration and FEL movement does the rest. So today I removed the excess material from around the bolts and if this doesn't seem to fix it then out comes the drill and taps.

Found that after working the FEL yesterday that I needed to add a section of rod to the tip of the new bracket to keep the hose assembly in place. Also added a section of garden hose on the bottom to help prevent wear.

I had a similar situation with my 3215. I noticed the hydraulic lines were rubbing against the side of the hood. I had a much easier fix it seems. I simply disconnected the lines and rerouted them so that the bend was facing towards the back of the tractor. This gave the lines a more natural bend and they don't seem to rub up against anything. You'll also notice in the pics there are factory installed pieces of rubber protecting the lines at the ends of the metal protection shield that holds the lines to the FEL arm. The only thing is they get in the way of the can a little when filling up with diesel. I'm wondering why yours wouldn't position the same way?

I didn't like the new bend that was going to be created by changing the hoses around and like you I put my fuel can on the FEL arm when refueling. Since I had the equipment and parts it was a no problem for me just to make something up.
By the way had you checked your hoses for any wear from around the bolt area like I found.

I haven't removed that cover yet to check. I guess I should. I usually don't like to take things apart unless I really notice a problem and have to. With my luck I'll probably shear a bolt off and create more work for myself. Ultimately though, a worn and leaking hydraulic line will be a bigger pain in the ...
