2810 vs. 3015: What\'s the difference???

Are both the 2810 and the 3015 Mitsubishi tractors that Mahindra has branded, or is the 2810 manufactured by TYM or some other entity? Although both models carry the Mahindra name, comparing the two it is pretty obvious that they are not manufactured by the same entity and it does not make sense that Mitsubishi would manufacture a 2810 and 2615, or 3015. All of which raises this question: which tractor is superior---the Mitsubishi/Mahindra 3015 or the 2810 [manufactured by whoever]? FWIW, the 2810 appears heavier by about 400lbs.

The 2810 is definitely a TYM tractor and the 3015 is a Mitsubishi. As to which is better, well I imagine that is very subjective. I'm really happy with my 2810HST.

The fact that the 2810 is 400 lbs heavier suggests it is a heavier duty tractor. Can anyone speak authoritatively on this issue and specifically whether the 2810 is more rugged than the 3015? It also looks like the 2810 has a higher capacity hydraulic pump.

You will find the 10 series tractors are heavier than the 15 series, and you will find a few dealers that list the 15 series as a sub compact and the 10 series as a compact tractor. Koreans like to build heavy tractors, and for some people weight transfers into traction so they like the heavier machine.

If you look 2310 HST , 2810 HST and the 3510 HST you will find they are the same tractor with differant horse power engines. That is a 23 HP machine weighing over 3,000 pounds, Some riding lawn mowers are that much HP! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

You will find a number of threads on both machines and a lot of good things said about both.

If you look at the specs again I think you will find the over all pump output is higher on the 3015 and the FEL will pick up over 300 pounds more that the 2810.

I have the 2810 HST and am very happy with it. The thing I like on the 10 series over the 15 series is the backhoe sub frame. on the 10 the sub frame is beside the tractor frame so you don't loose any ground clearance. On the 15 series it is under the tractor.

I am out in the woods or on construction jobs and the higher ground clearance means a lot to me, but this is just a personal preferance on backhoe subframes, I don't like under carrage backhoe sub frames on any tractor no matter what brand.

I had a new Kioti DK-40 here last year. Loved the tractor but hated the Backhoe with the under carrage subframe. I was hund up in the woods all the time so I got rid of the thing.

Nobody has posted any regrets wishing they chose the other series.

There is quite a bit of overlap in the 2310, 2615, 2810, 3015 and 3510. This is just my uneducated thoughts on the matter. The 15s are a little more of an 'estate' tractor, smooth ground, finish mowing, not as good at dirt work. The 10s lean more to 'utility' tractor, better at dirt work, slightly disadvantage in finish mowing. That is not to say the 15s aren't good at dirt work or the 10s aren't good at finish mowing just discribing how the 2 compare to each other.
