2012 JD 2720
I used the tractor to till up our hop yard. I plowed with a middle buster, then used a 5' box frame disc to smooth out the area. I then used my rear blade to push the top soil that I loosened up into rows. Next week we will procure and set the hop trellis posts in those rows. Worked great!

On an amusing note- the local Kubota dealer is the only one who rents equipment nearby. I rented the disc from them. I got lots of static about weather my tractor would handle a 5' Land Pride box frame disc. He said I would have to set it on the least aggressive setting, and may not be able to pull it even then, etc. Not only did I have no problem with the basic setting, I then tried it on the most aggressive setting. No issues. I returned the disc and told the guy no issues. He said "well, it depends on the soil too...". REALLY. I'm pretty sure he is familiar with the fact we all have heavy clay soil in our area...

Thought I would check back in to say all is well since I got the tractor last December...

Looking good.
And what time of year do you put some straw/hay in small piles?

What is the next step or two following the stage shown in the pic?
