Down to my lovable little red Mahindra with FEL, and backhoe.
I got a new 2710 backhoe installed on my 2015. When I removed the backhoe, I found that the PB Hose is too short. This is the hose that comes from the upper left PB port on the loader control, and is supposed to connect to the hydraulic manifold block.

To get it connected, I had to remove the loader control, drop it down enough to get the hose connected, and then pull the loader control up tight and re-install it. The hose is really tight, and it rubs against the foot rest, so I am worried about it wearing.

Am I doing something wrong, or do I have the wrong hose? Photos below.

It looks like the hose may be the right length if there was a 45° fitting between the hose and the QD. You should talk to your dealer if they are the ones that installed the BH.

That shouldn't be. Is your setup similar to the Bradco recommended setup for the 4110/509 wherein you disconnect the PB line from FEL control to remotes (or 3-point) and connect up a new line to the BH? If so, you may wish to mount a couple of quick disconnects at the back of your tractor for this purpose (as Bradco recommends for the 509) and use two sets of lines instead of one. Makes it a ton easier.

Alternatively, if you have (or wish to add) a rear remote set, you can run the backhoe off of it and do away with the FEL control PB switching. You would need to figure out a way to latch the remote's control lever... and some folks say that this remote set approach is not a really great idea... but that's how they did it on mine and so far it's been preferable (convenience-wise) to PB line switching.

Technically it is right, but in reality it's wrong. I sent him a PM so we can get it figured out.

In my college days, I had a physics professor who liked to say "It's intuitively obvious to the casual observer." These two statements seem to sum up my problem quite well.

Thanks to all for your comments. But, I especially want to thank Rback.

This site sure has some great people.

I just want to report that this issue was satisfactorily resolved with support from KMW and my dealer (D&G Equipment, Augusta, WV). I really want to thank the parties involved.

The backhoe is great.
