2710 and 72\" KK Finish Mower ???

I have intentions of purchasing a King Kutter 72" finish mower for my B2710 ($769 Quality Farm & Fleet) and before doing so would be interested in hearing from those who have experience with this or a similar combination. I've seen several postings dealing with a 2710 / 72" MMM combination but not much dealing with a 72" rear mount finish mower.

I presently mow a 3+ acre portion of gentle terrain but future plans may include the maintenance of a larger portion of property.

Toy collection: Kubota B2710, LA402 Loader (54" bucket), BL4690A Backhoe (16" bucket), 5' KK Boxblade, 6' KK Landscape Rake and 5' KK Tiller. Very satisfied with the performance of each and want to feel the same with a mower attachment (before buying and after the purchase).

"Bird" should be able to give you with some pretty good educated advice. Until then, I'll say that the only problem that I could anticipate with a heavier 72" rear mower would a light front end on a B2710 if it didn't have a FEL; but since yours does, I really don't see any problems at all.

You didn't mention whether the mower you're considering was side or rear discharge. There have been several discussions on this board about this issue. Bottom line: I think that the older rear discharge mower had problems with even grass distribution but with newer generation rear discharge mower most people seem to like them better than side discharge.

I had decided on a 72" rear discharge mower for my B2150 with FEL (which is heavier than the B2710 but only has 24hp) but found a really good deal on a 60" side discharge Land Pride mower.

i used a kk 72" finish mower behind a ford 2n, and it handeled it fine. do not beleive u will have any problem using one with 2710, i now use a beffco 60"behind a b2400 and that is no problem. when u are using it is in the down position, and with a fel , it will be a peice of cake.

Re: 2710 and 72\" KK Finish Mower ???

My rear finish mower is just a 60" Bush Hog brand and I've even tried it out in knee high grass just to see how it would do. It never puts a load on the engine, although it's possible to run fast enough through high grass that it won't cut real clean. But at "normal" mowing speeds, it does a great job. I have no doubt at all that a 72" mower would be just fine, although some weight on the front might be required if you pick it up with the 3-point hitch. I mow without my FEL or any other weights on the front; no problem mowing, but I can tell it makes the front end a little light when I pick up the mower, but not enough to be a problem.

I have a 2710 with a befco C30 72" rear mount mower. It weighs 440 lb. I have no problem lifting it. I don't have weights or have the turf tires loaded. Also I don't mow with the FEL on. It will handle that mower just fine.

I have a 72" finish mower on a B2910. Does a great job. However, unless your land is as flat as a table top, the big mower will scalp the high spots and leave high grass in swales. I kinda wish I would have went for the 60" mower.
