2620 vs. 2630

The 2630 is $2600 more than the 2620 - at least according to the kubota.com site. Both are 26hp. Both are "B" series tractors. Aside from perhaps a mid-PTO standard on the 2630 and larger hydraulic pump, what justifies the price gap?

Anyone have a chance to try both out? I'm looking for real-world experiences, rather than just looking at specs on a page.

different wheels and tire size? Maybe not. But isn't there also a wheelbase difference in the 20 & 30 series? Doesn't that also translate to a weight difference? Good question, though, as to real life experiential difference between the two which might justify the pricing.

Telescoping lower 3PH links with easy adjusting tensioners, deluxe seat, can't recall what else, but more bells and whistles - oh stronger loader too I believe.

B2630 has position control on the 3pt.

The B2630 is a bigger tractor, and as others have mentioned, it comes with a nicer 3pt, position control ( a biggie to me), a stronger loader, and it also takes a larger, more powerful backhoe if that is of interest. I do think the mmm set up on the B2620 is nicer, and smaller has it's advantages sometimes. I kind of wish that they made an equivalant to the old B2410 ( a deluxe version of the smaller B) but I guess those weren't big enough sellers.

The list is extensive. If you study the specifications sheets on both you can find the differences, weight, WB, 3pt lift capacity, etc. The hard things to spot are the convenience items mentioned above. To me those are critically important.

If possible find a dealer with both on the lot, and preferably with an attachment on the 3pt. Use the 2620 with 1/4 inch control lift and then get on the 2630 with position control lift. WOW!!! Huge difference. If 3pt use is high on your list that difference alone is worth several hundred dollars in upfront cost.

Next hook/unhook a 3pt attachment, the 2620 without telescoping 3pt arms and then the 2630 with telescoping 3pt arms. There's the rest of the money difference without getting into the greater tractor work capacity, IMO.

If you have a chance to look at them side-by-side there would be obvious size differences aside from the above mentioned strength and deluxe advantages of the B2630.
Another very important thing to consider:
If you are using a BX and have a few places that are a bit narrow the B2620 might still fit. Chances are the B2630 would not.

Edit: I see you are using a BX1500. If you were to get the 2620 you would see a big deal more strength and heft and it is just a great all around machine. I love them "B" tractors.

2620 has a suspended mm mower. 2630 is ground contact design. I prefer the suspended.

One of the dealers posted a thread a month or so back saying that there were some real good deals to be had on the 30 series. So I would imagine the price difference would be less than what the MSRP reflects. I guess they are moving them to maybe roll out a new deluxe B series.

Yes, I heard that too, but I did hear that the deals were on the B2630's and not the B3030's. For some reason the B2630's have not been great sellers, and I think Kubota has some that are kind of hanging around. I like them. Still, if I really wanted to mow, I would choose the B2620. If I wanted to do 3 point work, or use a backhoe, I would choose the B2630 for sure if I had the little bit of extra storage room, etc.
