Can someone tell me how to remove the position control lever in order to install a new one? Do I have to remove the seat to take off the connecting part where the pcl attaches? I took the two nuts and washer off but the pcl will not ease off so I think there is another way - the right way - to do it.
Thanks,
Don

The position control lever is what you use to raise and lower the rear hydrolic arms.

I took a look at the one on my 2615, and I see nothing else holding it on. I think you might need to pry it off, working from both sides; so as to apply pressure evenly. Try spraying some penetrating oil, as you may have some corrosion, or it could be stuck due to paint. I'm amazed you are able to reach in there and do anything in such a tight space.

Why do you have to replace the lever? Did your lever break? I bent mine once when I lost my balance and sat on it but was able to straighten it back up. All the linkages do require an annual dose of PB Blaster followed by spray lube or they get stuck.

I bent the all heck out of it and the part toward the back where the nut attaches cracked and broke. So it needs to be replaced. I will try to pry some more but I will probably have to take the seat off to deal with it. It is a good idea to take the seat off on occasion to clean under it as dirt builds up there.

Fixed it and I did not have to take the seat off. I already had the washer and the two nuts off. I sprayed it real good with WD40 and let it sit over night. In the morning I was able to nudge it loose some. Kept spraying and nudging and got a long lighter and heated it. A few more nudges and it came off!!

The sweet smell of success! Good for you, Blue_Sky. And I'll be careful to not sit on my PCL.
