2615 3 point dropped suddenly

My son had it raised with a disc harrow on it making a turn and it just fell and would not go back up. With the disc off the arms can easily be raised by hand. He has tried moving the drift and lift to different positions and also the sliding lift rate control with no luck. Fluid level is fine. The MF lives 3 1/2 hours away. Any ideas would be appreciated. He is coming back tomorrow and will drop it off at a dealer if not fixed by tomorrow.

Remove the side cover on the RH side of the transmission. There is a linkage (actuated when you move the 3PT control lever) that drops down from the top cover, it will have a small roller at the bottom of the linkage. This linkage controls the hydraulic pump action by moving a lever attached to the pump. The linkage from the top cover can jump forward of the pump lever leaving you with no 3PT action. Use a screwdriver and move the top cover linkage back to it's normal position, behind the pump lever. If this is what you find, put the side cover back on, check fluid level and that's it.

If you can't get it through the side cover, don't be afraid to remove the top cover to reposition the linkage. It's a very simple system and nothing you can tear up.

Thank you for your help. Could the side plate also contain the transmission dip stick and sliding control? It seems to be the only plate he could find. "Lateral Cover - Response"?

Well he got the cover off that also contained the response and dip stick. Very limited room to work in and would need to remove the tire. He said the top cover was pretty far from the lower one. He also found what said said looked like a wrench socket that was threaded just laying on the bottom loose. We pulled the plug on it and he is dropping it off at the MF on the way home.

What you describe as a socket found in the case was most likely the auxiliary pump plug that goes into the back side of the pump. Easy job, drain the oil, remove the top cover and replace the plug. Also check the line running from the pump to the side cover, these lines burst occasionally on these tractors.
