5000 Ford, 2019 New Holland Boomer 55 Cab, 935GBH BH
I just ordered a new Boomer 55 a couple weeks ago at my local dealer. They don't have a "Boomer" on the lot and do not stock them. Their excuse is that most customers want the cheaper Workmaster's. They know very little about Boomers. The salesman did not even know that NH made one with a CVT transmission until I brought it to his attention. While we were discussing options I asked if there was another loader besides the 260TL that was available and he said that he was not aware of it. Since then I have discovered that a 270TL is available for the Boomers with the CVT transmission and I would think you could put one on a Boomer 55 with HST. The 270 has a lift capacity of 1000 lbs. more than the 260 which I like. One of the reasons I am stepping up to a 55 from my TC34DA which I purchased new back in '08 is the much higher loader lifting capacity. Does anyone out there know for sure that a 270TL FEL will fit on a Boomer 55 ? It's no use to ask the dealer as they probably don't know. I am getting a cab, 935GBH BH, radio, front grill and just about every option you can get on a 55 and I sure don't want to skimp on a loader on a tractor that's costing me over 50K ! This is the last new tractor that I will ever purchase. Anybody know for sure if it will work and if it will I will get it instead of the 260.

I have last year's broucher but I show the 46/54D use the 250TL and yours would be the 260TL.

On some auction sites they list the 270TL fits to: New Holland: TC48, TC55, T2410, T2420, T4055, T4060, TT45, TT55, Workmaster 45, Workmaster55; Case IH: D55, D60, DX55, DX60; Farmall: 45, 55.

In your opinion then you think it wont work?

Just an opinion with no solid data to support it so here is my opinion.

The 270TL appears to be for older model CNH compacts that may have used different mounts so it may or may not fit. The mounts on the loader appear to be different. I'd definitely want to try it before hand. The picture attached is a 270TL loader end mount. This is different then the 260.

When I look at lift capacity to max height 500mm forward, the 270TL is 1830lbs and the 260TL is 1849lbs. With that said I would just stick with the 260TL. img.jpg

The NH build page only lists the 260TL as an option for the Boomer 55 so I would stick with it. I do see an older spec sheet where the 270TL was for the Boomer 4055 but that is an older model so I doubt it would fit the newer model.

It will fit the Boomers with the CVT transmissions which both models are less powerful that the 55. For some reason their rear lift will pick up about 1000 lbs. more that the 55. I notice they have different rear wheels on them than the 55. When I asked the salesman about the Boomers with the CVT he did not even know what I was talking about. Seems strange for a dealer salesman who supposed to be selling them. The CVT Boomers also have a fancier cab on them called "super suite". I dunno, I just can't get any straight answers from this dealer. They told me the front bumper came with the loader but I don't believe that either. I went thru everything on their website and I could not find that anywhere so I took the order sheet back up there and had him add the bumper to the list of options and initial it so they couldn't blame me for adding it on. I'm slowly losing faith in them but I've already given them a 5K deposit so it's too late to back out now.

Keep in mind that the CVT models are New Holland designed and not an LS made tractor. So it would be like comparing to competition.

I do like the cab of the CVT better but I won't give mine up for it.

Still trying to wrap my head around the 270 fitting. The picture I posted shows the 270 loader mounts closed on the back. Whereas the 260 is open in the back. So I'm trying to figure out how it would mount.

There is a video on You Tube that says it's a Boomer 55 but it is actually a Boomer 46 with Super Suite and a 270TL loader on it. My local dealer advised me yesterday that they no longer make the 270TL but could not tell me the model that replaced it. They said that even if they could put a 270 on it that it would be too much for that tractor. They first suggested a 260TL may have replaced it but I told them I did not think so. On another matter, I see Boomer cabs with and without the top mounted work lights. There are references to a "deluxe lighting package" that includes them and a rear windshield wiper. I called the dealer yesterday and they could not tell me if my cab would have them on it or not. I told them I wanted them even if I had to pay extra. The salesman just called me back and said they were standard on my Boomer 55 cab. This salesman did not even know they made a Boomer with a CVT on it until I told him. When I told him I wanted a front bumper he said he "thought" that came standard with the loader. Well, I read everything I could find and there is nowhere in their brochure or website that states that so I made him add it to the list of options. I just called the US headquarters of NH and asked them if there is a brochure, paper, etc that has a list of all available options for this tractor and was told NO, that all info like that would have to come thru the dealer. I told them that my local dealer does not stock or sell Boomers unless it's someone like me who special orders one. My dealer said they might sell 1 Boomer a year and it usually is a dealer transfer. There were a couple 55's with cabs on the east coast but they were last years models that had been sitting out for a year or so. My TC34DA that I bought "new" in '08 was a '06 model with the seat already ruined, gauges and lever knobs all faded out, etc. I ain't goin' that route again, that's why I am ordering and waiting 6 months for a newly built one.

As far as CVT vs. HST I don't know if it's worth the price difference. Our car has a CVT and other that no shifting which a HST dont shift anyway I don't see where there would be much operational difference. Enlighten me if you can and do you know how much difference in the price is? BTW the drive away price for this Boomer 55, not counting over 3,500.00 NC state sales tax is 50, 085.00 with loader, cab, radio, 935GBH BH, thumb, big pads on the outriggers, front bumper, etc which was the lowest of 3 quotes I got. The next closest was 800.00 more. Thanks for your info you are giving me.

They all carry the Boomer name, some are made by NH and some by LS. The NH Boomers have CVT, the LS have HST as an option. If I remember correctly, the 47 and 54 are LS, the 50, 55, etc, are NH but I may be wrong. It has been a while since I looked at them. The second generation CVT was being made in Mexico last I heard.

My TC40DA has HST, the Boomer 8N has CVT. The HST is better for loader work as you can keep one hand on the wheel, one on the joystick, and change direction with the pedals. With the CVT you have the shuttle shift to go between forward and reverse. Since my Boomer 8N doesn't have an FEL is no big deal for me, it is used for mowing. What I don't miss while mowing is the HST whine.

Just remember to set your RPMs up with the throttle lever and use the foot pedal to adjust speed while moving around. While you can use the foot pedal to increase RPMs and speed it is a jerky ride. The low, medium, and high range are just a percentage of max speed, 30%, 60%, and 100%. Power is the same. I use low range for better control around objects, same pedal travel distance and the first 1/4 of travel is inching speed. For the Boomer 8N cruise control only works in high range. Took me a while to figure that out.

I read the New Holland website and I see your confusion. First it says this:

"A front wiper and washer, a front window sun screen, and front and rear work lights are standard equipment. A rear window wiper/washer is optional, as are rear cab-roof-mounted work lights and a safety beacon".

Then it says:

"There’s no need to pick and choose from optional cab features. New Holland includes them all as standard equipment from the factory, including:*

• Controls located conveniently on the right fender*
• Cab-mounted worklights on both front and rear"

I can say my cab came with rear wiper and cab mounted lights. The lights are ok but if you want to see you will upgrade to LED work lights.

There are two front brush guards. One is a tractor accessory and the other is a loader accessory. They are different and one costs more.
