260 throttle cable

Not to appear too stupid, but I have a friend with a 260 Mower and he wants me to replace the throttle cable. Is it going to be straitforward, or are there tricks involved?

I just replaced the throttle cable on my JD 165, which has a Kawasaki 460V engine. I saw some on E-Bay, but decided to go to the local JD dealership. It was very easy to install. From what I can see on-line with the 260, it looks very similar to the 165. It took me 30 minutes to replace.

I used a pair of rag wrapped pliers to remove the red throttle lever so it wouldn't damage it. There were two bolts under the dash, and a cable hold down wire. Because I'm not a mechanic by trade, I always take pictures with my phone or camera on everything I do so that I can figure out how to put it back.

If you don't have a shop manual, I'd recommend you pick one up for your motor and for the 260. They too are on E-Bay. Its worth it. Good luck!
