I wouldn't mind seeing some pictures of guys with 26 inch tires on there 1100. Also would like some recommendations on what brand to go with. I use mine for plowing snow in the winter and around my farm in the summer. Also do light trail riding with the kids. I want to stay away from a lift kit because I don't want to put stress on it and have read on several threads that guys like the 26s..

A lot of guys with UTV's and ATV's like Maxis Bighorn tires for trail riding. I have them on my ATV and they work great for plowing, riding in snow, and just general "all around" riding.

However, with that said, my next tires, whether they go on an ATV or a new UTV, will be the Kenda Bear Claw HTR's (8 ply radials)...

the bighorns and bear claws are very good trail riding tires but if you get into any kind of mud they will clog up really fast. i would go with a 26"589 it bits good on the trails and it's a great snow tire from what i have read about them they are made of some really hard rubber and will just about outlast anyother tire they make.just don't go any bigger than a 26" or you'll have rubbing issues the 26"has the same tread as the 27" so there is no need to go bigger.they will out pull and out last any other atv tire out there.

I looked at all the ones you guys suggested..(thank you) I really like the 589s. The reviews are also great on them (atv magazine etc) they are supposed to do well on hard pack due to the hard rubber and that's a major bonus. Is having a lift kit truly hard on the machine? I'm trying not to be impulsive and do 27s with a lift kit.. I just can't seem to leave things alone! But... When I bought this machine I was going for something that will last me and I use it for work a fair bit of the time. Please talk me out of it! Lol

Stick with the 26" in. Bigger tires have more cons than pros.

The 589's are nice tires... keep in mind that they are not radials, and they are only 6 ply rated. Some of the other tires mentioned are radials, and some are 8 ply rated radials.

Good luck.

i ran 589's on my hpx for years and when i did have a flat tire before i used slime they would still ride without goind tottaly flat..stick with the 26' and forget about the lift kit .it will put a strain on your cv joints and also in some cases will cause the axles to pop out . the 589's are pretty much a run flat tire because the rubber is so hard and thick. the lift kit will put a camber in the front end and you won't like it to much. i was you back a few years ago and wanted a lean mean lifted up machine but i soon found out it is more trouble than it's worth. i promise you if you go with the 26"589's without a lift kit you'll be happy you went that route. besides the bigger the tire the more power you loose .i sold my hpx and bought a rhino i had some 27" swamplites on it and didn't like them at all so i went to a 26"outlaw and it does great .i also went with the wides and not the skinnies because everyone is running skinny tires and when they dig a rut i just go right throught it because my tires are 3" wider than thiers so i get traction on the side of the ruts .on my hpx i had some 27"589's and they would rub so i put a lift kit and then i srted having axles pop out on me so i cut the lift kit down to under 1/2 " just enough for them to clear and i swore i would never put another 27"tire on any of my machines again so do yourself a favor and get the lift lit out of your mind and go with some 26" .it's better to have a reliable machine than to have one that is a hit or miss on the day when you wanna go ride.here's a picture of mine with 27"589's and a picture with 27"swamplites on my rhino also some with the 26"outlaws on my rhino

Ya I'm thinkin il go with them. They look great on your machine! The mattracks I have on right now are causing me some issues. I was out mudding the other day and on the way back heard a clunking noise. I was thinking maybe a track mount came loose or something but today I got a chance to try to figure out the isssue and it seems to me it's a u joint. I'm going to have another look tmrw. I was really hoping these tracks would not cause the machine stress but I guess that was wishful thinking. Traction is awesome with them but not worth it if I'm gona be shelling out cash on a regular basis. May have to put the tracks on my Honda Rincon and just run tires on the 1100. don't want to though!

yea you gotta watch how you push that pedal down even with tires. a heavy foot will cost you even with stock tires. i have a winch for when i loose traction i don't sit there and spin the tires .if it stops movin in forward and it don't move in reverse i winch it. rebuilding a winch is simple and not as costly as breakin u joints and axles.
