2016 Mahindra 2538, 2016 Mahindra 2655, 2017 CaseIH 75C, 2021 CaseIH 110c., 2020 Kubota svl 65-2, 2022 Kubota svl 75-2, Kubota svl75-3, Kubota M6
Yesterday I was working my 2538 pretty hard pulling out some of the toughest brush ever. I was lifting with a chain on the bucket lifting all it could lift. I had my box blade on and loaded tires. The tractor could not spin. I ran out of power. I would think this is pretty normal. My question is do the shuttle shifts run out of power or is it due to hydraulic power robbing tranny? I do love my 2538. It has done everything I have asked of it. I am nearing 200 hours with no real issues. Kind of wish I had gotten a cab at time especially yesterday when that limb hit me in the head :) Could have used a little more tractor yesterday for the first time but Mindy copped an attitude and got the job done. I do a lot of stone driveways and love the tranny. I have never tried a shuttle. What are the advantages vs disadvantages?

You're only talking about a 2 or 3 HP difference between HST and shuttle drive so that really isn't going to do anything for you. Personally I don't like driving and HST and prefer a shuttle but I don't do much back and forth work. It's pretty much a personal preference kinda thing. I drove both before I bought the tractor and preferred the shuttle over the rocker pedal HST but I may have liked a two pedal HST but it didn't come that way in the tractor I wanted so I went with the shuttle.

I can understand not liking the rocker pedal for sure. I would not purchase a tractor with it. I was not thinking so much about power as a more positive drive. I have never tried a shuttle but would think the back and forth I do would not be as good. I sure do like the two pedal setup.

depends on weight/traction vs HP... I can load down a 1538 shuttle until it bogs or until it spins... just depends on were the weight is taken and what im pushing or pulling on... iv always preferred a clutch/gear syncro shuttle vs hst or powershuttle

Sounds like they are pretty equal. Thanks for the info.
