Somewhere along the line, someone said JD's competition came out with a new model that prompts the $2500 off offers...If that's true, what is/are the other tractor(s) that caused this?

I don't think it's the competition as much as it's the delay in getting the 1000 series out the door. JD discontinued the 2305 and until they get the long delayed 1023E or 1026R to the dealers there is a big hole in the line up.

I think JD is trying to hold onto sales in the meantime by offering the incentive of $1,000 for the 2320 and $2,500 on the 2520.
Must be working as it appears thet JD is selling a lot of 2520s.

Jusy my opinion

Kubota 2920,,,,29 HP, 21hp PTO,,,,but the package is still cheaper, $16,800-$17000,,, the plus for the 2520 is the 10 GPM pump, the Kubota is 8.3,,,,, vvBUT the JD is over $19000,,,, and you need two implement of at least $1000 so it's really a $1500 rebate and a free rake

Ultimately you have to decide what color suits you best :s)

Horsepower is only a part of the equation. The 2520 is a much more substantial tractor and quite a bit larger. I didn't find that they compare well. The advantage of the Kubota is if you need a lot of hp in a very small package.

Deere has sold many 2520s and has a 2 month waiting list. It's hurting them actually. They are losing sales of small tractors to Kubota and as the waiting list grows, more people are looking elsewhere.

My Deal was less than 17K for the 2520, 200CX, pallet forks, 5' box blade, iMatch, power beyond and a few other things.

There is more competition for everyone these days. BobCat, Kioti, LS, just to name a few. The market is very crowded at that size. It isn't just Green/Orange anymore.

I also agree that dropping the 2305 and the long delay of the 1000 series has created a really, really tough situation for Deere and its potential customers. This transition hasn't gone as smoothly as they would have liked, I'm sure.

yeah, the One series cluster has been a killer for Deere I am sure. The deal I got ($16,400 for 2520, 200cx, 72MMM and a few smaller things (block heater, rear light) was good. What really closed the deal was what trade in they would give me since they have nothing any smaller (no 2305's, no one series) They gave me $9250 for my 2210 with 200cx and 62C and 800+ hours on it.....)
