Just wanted to say thanks to everybody, and I mean that sincerly about all the advice/information I have been given regarding my first tractor purchase.
I have read countless posts and asked basic questions over and over ad nauseam. So based on what I am going to be doing with my tractor I opted for this configuration.

2520
200CX 53" loader
Ballast box
Turf ties
62D deck
iMatch hitch (added by dealer to close the deal)

While people might agree or disagree over such things as R3 verses R4 tires and tractor HP the one common thread I encounterd was people emphasizing the need to feel comfortable not only with the machine they are buying, but the dealer they are buying from. I feel I have accomplished both and told the dealer as much when I shook his hand.

The tractor was ordered and may take a week or longer to arrive. I was told that once the tractor is set up they will call me to take a look. Somebody from the dealership will spend time with me to acquaint me with everthing on the tractor. Later they will deliver the unit.

Thanks again,
smalltown

P.S. I will post the obligatory pictures when the tractor arrives.

Smalltown,

Congratulations !!! Well you did your homework and made an excellent choice on a tractor. I can truly say the 2520 will give you many many hours of hard work.

P.S. I'm glad you added the "P.S." that you will post photos when it arrives. I know some will say you've seen one you've seen them all but if you love tractors you can look at 1,000 of them and still want more. :D

Enjoy your 2520..

Good for you Jim.......I was just about to send you a message, asking if you did in fact go to the dealers today, but obviously you did. Congratulations on the new rig........I'm sure you will be very happy

I don't know if you have added any of the other smaller accessories or not, but I would suggest a "bucket hook", and the rear work light package. I always carry a chain with me, you never know when it will come in handy, and the hook on the bucket makes it easy if you have to drag something while backing up. The work lights come in handy, especially when plowing snow at night. Remeber, it gets dark kinda' early in the winter for us northerners.

Good Luck and make sure you post pics when you get it.

Thanks everybody glad to relax after having made my decision. :) as I have more than a tendancy to over investigate things.

Rev. Haven't added anythig just yet. My nephew suggested adding some bracing to the top inside of the 53" bucket to firm it up, and at that time I hope we can add a hook to the bucket. So it appears one of my first purchases will some metal a hook and a spray can of John Deere green.
I sure had my eye on a great looking Land Pride 60" box blade, but after being quoted $911 I reluctantly decided to look elsewhere.

Whre do I send my 2520 dues?

P.S. I don't think it was the dealer blowing smoke after the sale, but he did remark to me that the 2520 is a heck of a deal right now" !
