I'm looking to put a MMM on my JD 2520 and I'm wondering what all of you prefer, the independent lift or use the standard mechanical lift? I know the 72" only has mechanical lift and 62D can use the independent lift.

I pretty much understand how they both work, but I'm curious what you guys have found for scenarios where one works better or worse with 'other' attachments?

Heres what I will be using for attachments all summer while the MMM is installed---- Rear Flail Mower, Rear Tiller and FEL! I'm curious WHEN I would need to remove the MMM with each of the MMM lifts to use my other attachments? Hoping to select whichever one will be less of a hassle for me all summer!

Thanks in advance!

I have used both & I prefer the independent lift. I had independent lift on a 2720 & I have it on my 1026R. In the past I had a JD 2210 & a JD 2320 with mechanical lift. It got old having the 3 point hitch go up & down with the mower deck or vise versa.

The problem with the independent lift is that you have to have a 3rd SCV, a deverter valve or swap hoses.
A 3rd SCV is my choice.

I guess I will be mowing with the FEL off usually because of the weight and not ripping up the lawn and also the maneuverability. So, maybe thats pointing me right to the Independent lift????

SO, to keep the FEL ON and the MMM ON at the same time, I would need the SCV or Diverter valve? Otherwise, I just take one off and install the other and put hoses on my couplers I use for my FEL I assume.

You can have the mower deck & loader on at the same time without having a diverter valve or 3rd scv. To use the independent mower lift with the loader on, you unhook the loader dump hoses & hook the mower hoses to those connectors.
Then to go back to using the loader, you unhook the mower hoses & hook up the loader hoses. If you will never have the mower deck & the loader on at the same time, then there is no issue.

I can tell you that there will be times when you have the mower deck on & you will need to use the loader for a small job. You will not want to take the time to remove the mower deck. That is when swapping hoses will come into play.

Thank you! Exactly the scenarios I was looking to hear about! :)
