a quick check of past threads on this topic shows that this has been discussed. Use google to search for "lift capacity of 200cx on John deere 2520". Lots of good info!

Good Luck.

I think that's asking to much of a 2-series machine to lift that load safely. It would be best to have the load separated on two pallets, and even then you'll need to have lightweight forks like the Artillian ones vs. the Frontier ones.

Kenny is right. About 800 lbs is close to the limit.

800# is the about the limit for the 200cx but I'm sure I've picked quite a bit more but I really doubt 1800#. Plus your at a disadvantage with forks as they are heavier than a bucket and they put the load out a little further yet. I realize you're only trying to lift it just high enough to move but I still doubt it. Let us how you make out just for curiosity's sake. Good luck but play safe.

Part of the reason I upgraded to a 3520 was the lifting capacity of the 2520 really limited me. I could only lift a pallet with 800 lb. of material. I doubt that you will be able to lift 1600 lb. even a few inches off the ground.

No way an 1885# tractor is going to SAFELY pick up 1600#s on FEL

My 2520 with everything attachments forks on will lift 25 bags of wood pellets, so thats 1,000 lbs BUT the weight has to be close to the tractor, not on a large pallet. no way with bucket forks will you touch that pallet.

Hiya,

I had a 2520 several years ago, (Actually I regret selling it and looking to replace it as it was so handy for mowing and small stuff around the house but that's another subject)

I had a set of Horst light duty forks which weighed roughly 200 lbs and the max I could lift with it was 800 lbs of water softener salt and that only if I piled the bags close to the fork frame on the pallet. It drove OK but you could tell it was at the limit of the loader and chassis with that ~1000Lb load. I managed to get about 1200Lbs off the ground once, I had to tip the pallet down, raise the loader lifting the rear of the pallet, tip down, raise, etc until the rear was high enough then use the curl to lift the load off the ground. It was not all that stable and I never did it again. The extra 200 lbs made a huge difference in how the little tractor reacted.

If you really need to lift 1600 Lb pallets often, look to a used forklift, they lift those kind of weight easily and safely because that is their only job. My buddy down the road has a Moffit I borrow if I need something big, it will lift upwards of 6K easily.

My 2 cents,
Tom
