I have a 2008 2520 with 250 hours on it.
I performed the 'break in' service at ~65 hours including complete drain of the transmission/hydraulic fluid, cleaned suction screen, and changed filter. At that time I had the normal metal particles on the suction screen.
I am performing the above transmission service, and expected to see very little on the suction screen. To my surprise, the amount of metal shavings on the suction screen was similar to what I saw at the initial 65 hour cleaning. A few pictures are attached.
Is this normal to continue to see metal particles after the initial clean out of manufacturing residue?
Also, I have been trying to find a replacement for the transmission/hydraulic filter that is proprietary to JD, costs and arm and a leg, and my local dealer doesn't stock. I found this thread that cross references the AM116156 and the 2520 specified LVU800097. This tells me that these two filters are functionally similar, but dimensionally different.
I got the Wix equivalent of the AM116156 (for $8) and put it on. It will be very tight with the mid pto shaft collar, but might work. Has anyone else had any luck finding a suitable replacement for the LVU800097?
Thanks,
Joe
