2518 - attaching a tach

Mine has the 20hp kohler command. Anyone know a convenient location to attach a tach. Mine tach is an automotive one that attaches to the plus side of the coil usually. I get a reading on the top of the 3 posts on the lower left of the engine but it doesn't look right.

For most small engines without a automotive style coil you need a induction pick up tach like this one that Northern Tool sells.
