i have 2 2440's. i broke the 3pt lever shaft where it goes into the case on my 77model. it just seized one day and broke clean at the case. i bought a used one from b and m in taylor,tx.
pulling the rock shaft cover was not easy and i dont want to go through that again. it is working great .
now my other 2440 tractor is getting hard to move the lever. i dont want to break it. i have been spraying it with pb hoping to get the lube where it is needed. is there anything else i can do? seems like they corrode at the bushing in the case. are there any tricks? thanks. mark g
i drilled a small hole the size of the pb blaster straw and parked at the angle i thought the stuff would flow towards the case, let it sit overnight , seems to have worked. lever is free. thanks. mark g
