My hand throttle does not stay in place, is there a friction adjustment. I've looked through the "similar" manuals but can't find anything. thanks

There should be a nut down where the hand throttle lever pivots that will tighten it up. You might need to remove part of the lower dash to see it.

Hope this helps,

I don't know if yours is built like my 1500D, but mine had a large rubber washer that provided the friction. It broke so I replaced it with a couple of pieces of plastic (from a coffee can lid) separated by several chunks of foam. I intended it as a temporary fix, but it has worked fine for several months.

The friction disc on my YM1700 broke too. I tried to use a neoprene washer from the hardware but it wan't the same. I got an original replacement for a few bucks.....but I can't tell ya which dealer, that might be a plug for his business.

I have had good luck cutting things like that out of plastic "Bondo" body filler applicators, from any parts store. They are tough and flexible, and can be easily drilled.

Thanks for your help and suggestions, I guess I was expecting something more elaborate and overlooked the obvious. Bill
