The Mahindra backhoe will be available very shortly if not already.

I got my first shipment of 1710 on Saturday morning. Very nice. The main boom is curved, which looks cool. The outriggers fold up tight to the unit, so it can remain narrow when traveling.

I think they will be ramping up production on these soon. So far, I like what I see.

I heard the 2415 has plastic fenders - from my dealer. He had one on site, but I didn't look at it cuz I was too taken with looking at my 2015 which had come in the day before.

The 2415 has steel fenders. All the 15 series have stel fenders, except that the 2815 and 3215 have plastic fender extensions over the steel fenders.

Dave is correct in stating that the 2815 and 3215 have plastic fender extensions. The reality, however, is that without the extensions, these models wouldn't have fenders. I've been looking at the 2815 series for about 6 months now, and was very disappointed when Mahindra switched the design on this unit (this was literally the first thing I noticed). Although the newer design is a little more operator friendly (more spacious, easier to manipulate controls), the new design feels and looks cheap. Don't get me wrong, the Mahindra units are far better than the competition, I was just disappointed to see Mahindra cheapening the unit with plastic "extensions". The main reason I wanted a Mahindra was because it was rugged through and through. It seems like they've let the designers have more control than they should. I don't want something that looks pretty, I want a man's machine that's ready for work.

...Just my opinion.

I guess it would depend on how well its designed . Many members on TBN have brands that have plastic fenders, hoods or other body panels. Designed with the proper materials, they may be more durable than their steel counterparts. I would think they shouldn't dent as easily. Maybe some of the dealers could weigh in with their own observations.

Sub-mount. Not sure on the MSRP as I don't have it in front of me.
