Case 530
Hey guys, I'm trying to find plans to price out materials to build a 24' deck over with pintle. I'm looking to build something heavy enough to carry a 8-9000# load with the potential to carry more, say perhaps I trade the case 530 for something bigger and better such as a 580 or comparable size. I would like the trailer to be a lifetime piece of equipment, if I can't haul it on this trailer I don't need it. I do want the full width deck-over design that way if I break my F150 I don't have to fight it up and over fenders.

I think what I'm looking for is a 12-14k trailer plans?

Tow vehicles may vary, current one will be a '71 F600 dump, I may also tow lighter stuff with my F150 or my dads '00 F250.

I use to build my own trailers but where I live now you can't register a "shop built" or home made trailer over 2000 lbs rating. You might check with your local DMV office to make sure you are allowed to do this before committing the time and money.

Food for thought, look at a bunch of trailers that are similar to what you wan't and copy those designs. Be aware that building your own trailer can be more costly than buying a ready built trailer. I find I can save money building my own implements but trailers are much more competitive with less margin.

Currently the market in my region is very scarce on good condition used trailers, example would be a light weight trailer is holding a $3500 price tag and the deck is tore up pretty bad to the point I would re-do it. Thats for a trailer I would feel comfortable loading 8000# on but nothing more, most of those are channel constructed 6" or less. They remind me of my dads 16' car trailer with 4 or 5" channel?

I do see now that building my own, the way "I think" it should be built with around 20' of flat deck, is going to cost me $5k roughly and probably more than I'm anticipating. Thanks for the heads up on the DMV, never crossed my mind they may have restrictions.

That is a great deal:thumbsup:! While you're in the building mode, go ahead and build a gooseneck adapter.;)

Oh OK! I could see the ramps on top, but couldn't tell what was under the ramps. So now you have a little welding job to do.

Years ago I use to work with a guy who lived in Benton City. Most likely dead by now. Good ol boy. Quite the silver smith!
