2355 big enough?

Im looking for my first tractor, just bought enough land/cattle to justify the purchase. I found what looks to be a decent deal on a JD 2355 with cab and 175 loader. My concern is if it will load and unload 5x5 and 5x6 round bales with the FEL. I would be moving less than 150 bales per year. Is this tractor big enough or should I look to move up to something bigger?

It should handle what you're asking, just fine. That tractor weighs 7000#, not counting the loader. And it has a long enough wheelbase and wide enough stance that it should be very stable.

i had a 2355 it will move 5x6 bales , bush hog ,dig post holes and run haying equipment.just what you need on a cattle operation.mine came with 16.9x30 tires,which i replaced with 18.4x30 tires for increased traction.

It should do just fine handling that size round bales. With the loader and a little ballast it's going to weigh around 10,000lbs which is a good size tractor. Just don't expect it to pull a 5x6 baler.

Local dairyman used 2355's to unload 18 wheeler carrying the largest sq bales of Alfalfa which should weight as much or more than 5X6 rd bales. 55 series are some of JD's better tractors.

Definitely. I move round bales, 5x6, with my 4020 and my 5103. Both do the task fine. I put one on the loader spear and one on the 3pt forks.
