I have put a suicide knob on my steering wheel and find that in a short time of driving around, what use to be the straight position of the knob has moved to the opposite side of the steering wheel and it is constantly moving around to different sides. Is this normal?

I would tighten the suicide knob! :)

I have noticed that also and is normal on hydraulic steering. At least on the last 3 I have had, all behaved that way.

You are steering with a hydraulic valve and the wheel can keep turning. Alot different than a steering box. JC

As stated, it is perfectly normal with hydrostatic steering for the wheel to change it's center point.
