2006 John Deere 2305
Finally ready for a tiller. I will be using it for some yard work (grading, reseeding) Repairing all the trenches I've dug, and a small garden. I've decided to just buy local and not pay for the extra freight associated with CCM. Deere is out of my budget range with $1800 for a John Deere or a Frontier. I'm looking at King Kutter and not sure which is best suited for my 2305. They make a TC-48XB which is chain driven for a limited cat 1/ 3 point. Weighs approximately 375 lbs. Local dealer price is $1100. Must be ordered. They also have their standard TG48 which is gear driven, cat 1 / 3 point and weighs approximately 525 lbs. Price is $1065 and in stock

Question is, will the limited 3 point work the TG48 ok? Will I need to cut the shaft shorter? The dealer says the TG is a better built and heavier duty tiller. May possibly have better resale. He sells many TG's and very few TC's

Same story at TSC. They have the TG in stock and have to order the TC. Same price from them on both $1195.

Purchased a TG48 King Kutter. Unloaded, uncrated and installed. Looks like I need to cut the PTO shaft. Just holding it in place following the instructions, it is all the way together with no apparent free play in the raised position.

Very heavy unit. Ugly color.

I know with the 2210 and the i-match you don't have to cut anything on the pto shaft. The 2305 should be the same setup. I think you will be very happy with it. Tilled some yard the other day that had tree roots and never bogged down any at all. Happy tilling.

I don't have Imatch. How much does it move the attachment back?

RVtech, I have a 4010 and a KK TG 48 tiller. It fits the tractor very well and tilled up my 3 acres of field. The 4010 only has 14 PTO hp, so your 2305 should work fine. It is a heavy tiller, and you will know it is back there when you raise the 3pt for the first time. That weight is an advantage in the field though, as it absorbs some of the abuse that a lighter tiller would not. I hit lots of rocks with mine and it looks like someone shot it from the inside. The metal is actually dented slightly in a couple of places from impacts. I cannot imagine using a lighter duty tiller unless all you till is pure dirt with no rocks or hard objects.

I have Pat's Easy Change system and did not have to cut the PTO shaft at all. It fit perfectly. Pat's ECS probably adds 3 or maybe 4" of length to the lower arms. That no doubt helped.

I paid $1022 at TSC, but I purchased a RFM at the same time and they knocked off 10% at my request. Regular price in Temple, TX was $1136.

It will move it back due to the fact that the three point mounts to the steel tubing of the Imatch and then on the other side of the tubing are the hooks. Moves you implement slightly farther back.

Check out how my blade mounts, The green frame the arms connect too is the Imatch. Hope this helps.

I don't think I'll get the I-match for now. This tiller is my first 3 point attachment. As with all my tractor equipment, I'm in no hurry and have the time to install the attachment. I ended up cutting 3" from both ends of the shaft. That gives me about 1.5" of free play at maximum travel. So far all is well. Tiller is working great. As with every single thing I've tried with this tractor...it exceeds expectations (except the toothbar) Tiller weight seems fine. I was only able to move it a couple of inches by hand, but the 2305 seems fine with it. I tilled about 30 feet without the loader. I'll put it on before continuing.

Some pics of the tilled area would be great! I'm looking at a 2305 and would like a tiller to re-do some of my yard. Just wondering what the "finished product" looks like.

Thanks!

Scott
