Deere 2305
I have a new front quick hitch I was going to install on my 2305, and the instructions state I either need a Front Attaching Support Kit, or a Hood Guard Kit... So today I picked up a Hood Guard Kit, but there is no way that I can see where this will replace or do the work of the Front Attaching Support Kit, am I missing something... has anyone installed one of these before?

Thanks in advance, this is my first tractor and my first post... but I have read alot here....

Can you post some pictures of the components you do have?

Here's a few pics. that shows my set-up. When I received my 2305 the hood guard was already install and if I recall right I had to remove the plates that you see in the pics and replace them with the front attaching support kit that came with the quick hitch. Hope the pics help.

I don't think the quick hitch is for your tractor. I think they vary on the mounting side depending on what they are for.

I bought my JD2210 used with a mmm only. then I bought a front blade. I had to buy a separate accessory kit to add to the tractor before the front blade quick attach would hook up. The kit included the two side plates in Henri's pics that are shown in the first two pics. The black plates with the J shaped slots in them. They were necessary to allow the blade attachment to hook to the tractor. I'm thinking that's what you are missing?? They would be in the Attachment Support Kit.

Kinda disappointed me that John Deere would sell me a blade assembly that I couldn't hook up to the tractor without buying a separate kit......

If you look at the first pic I've attached you'll see a 2305 (same frame as 2210) with no attachment brackets on the front.

Second pic shows a 2305 with the brackets you need.

Third pic shows my 2210 using those brackets to hold my front bumper/weight rack. They also hold my quick attachment for the front blade.

The pictures below show my 2305 quickhitch already pre-mounted to my front PTO adapter. The quickhitch doesn't connect directly to the frame, it connects to (something) that connects to the frame. I'm not sure what it looks like if it's not a PTO adapter (eg, plow only).

Guys, thanks for all your help...

The issue was, as previously stated... the metal plate brackets that some say were included in their quick hitch, were not included in mine...

It is the right quick hitch confirmed by part number, but the plates were not included.

The instructions were misleading and I ended up buying the mounting plates and got it all installed in a few minutes.

Now I just need to figure out the hydraulics...

I have an independent lift kit using one hydraulic port, the quick hitch has 2 for lift, and once I install the angle kit, it will have 2 there as well I assume?

So that leaves me one short.... also, it seems one of the quick hitch hydraulics is color coded green, the other is black- but I dont have a green port?

So I guess I might need to add some ports? or just disconnect the independent lift kit when using blade?

Yep, that's it.

Are you sure you don't have a green? Yellow, black grey, green...those are your 4 ports.
