My dealer is not much help with this question so I'll pose it to the users. I'm not positive but I seem to remember seeing my oil level physically about half way up the sight glass near the rear PTO. Lately, it is always completely red. Am I to assume red means full? Or is the plate behind the glass red so it is beliow level? One would logically think if correct, the lower half of the circle is red and upper half is silver assuming the plate is silver. Since I cannot see a level, I can't tell. Help?

The sight glass will indicate (cold oil level only) filled as oil half way displayed at the glass.
Warm/hot oil will expand.

The site glass may/will likely indicate the higher level. Viewing the sight glass, "all red", or full with warm oil should be OK. Just make sure the cold oil level displays only half.

My 2320 has a sight window also. In mine the metal plate behind the glass is silver, and the oil is red, so it is pretty clear where the oil level is. I find my oil level will go up or down depending whether the loader is on, position of the 3pt, etc. I would drive the tractor around a bit, and use the loader if you have one, and see if the level changes or not. I find that mine will travel the full range of the glass. Sometimes near the bottom, sometimes near the top with just a tiny bubble visible, or sometimes in the middle. Was your level always like this, or did you add oil, or service it?

Just to add to what was already said, be sure the 3PH and loader are all they way down, and the tractor is turned off about 5 minutes before checking the fluid level.
