Okay, it was bound to happen as I've bent the stand for my 200CX loader a couple of times. This time, it snapped off while bending it back down. Anyone happen to have the part number for the stand as I'm unable to find it on the JD website. And, I'm guessing that JD is probably the only place where I'm going to find a new one ($$$ on my mind). If anyone else has replaced this already, how difficult is the work? Thanks in advance.

I shared my similar story with TBN. Bent mine in the first month, it broke when I tried to straighten it. Dealer did the repair, $210 parts, $60 labor, free pick-up and return. (4/13/06)

Lesson learned:
Remove loader on FIRM, LEVEL ground.

Well, this is a timely warning as I'm about to take off my FEL for the first time tomorrow in order to install a plow.

Wow... I've often removed the FEL on somewhat uneven ground (and drag it around to get lined up again). Maybe I'll be a little more careful now! I never thought about bending the stand...

I never gave it a thought either. It always seemed like it was built pretty rugged, but I can see now how this could happen. Guess, I'll be more careful in the future.

Can someone explain how this happened? Is it because it was being removed/installed on uneven ground??

Thanks for the part number.

I only have enough room in my garage for the tractor, so the FEL stays outside. After the first snow when I went to install the FEL to plow, the stand had sunk into the mud, then froze. So the first time I bent it was that day putting it on. Got it straightened out, but could tell that the bent point was weak. I was careful to then always keep the FEL on a piece of plywood. This time, however, was on uneven ground when only one bottom side had lined up and I began to curl the loader to set the top. It just went from bad to worse after that. Anyway, the stand isn't that strong and I believe that it's length, when not careful, is a good way to blow $230.

Forgot to ask.... Dutch: I'm not a farmer, so not many tools or experience with tractors. Is this stand replacement something that I could handle myself? It looks as if I only have to remove the nut from each side, and not take the bolt/pin from the loader. Thanks.

This is a rather timely discussion as I removed my stand for the first time only yesterday and today I attempted to install it again. Yesterday, when I removed it I noticed that even though I was on level ground, the stand was plowing dirt at the end. I think the problem was that my bucket was not tilted enough. Next time I'm going to try about thirty degrees rather than JD's recommended 10-20.
Today attempting to put it on I was puzzled by the difference in heights of the hooks and the pins. I was under the impression that you only needed to drive into the fel. I read the JD instructions a little more and realized my mistake.
It started to rain so I'll be trying again tomorrow.
