2305 and tilling

Has anyone used a 55 or 57 inch tiller on a 2305 or 2210? I have a 50 inch tiller on my x495 and am wanting to put a larger one on my 2305 but I am concerned about having enough power in soft ground and the tiller pushing me in hard ground. The tiller I am looking at is a frontier RT1160. The 50 inch on the x495 will push in extremly hard ground and I expect the 57 inch will also but I would be upset if I spent the money and it pushed in ground that was not so hard.

I have a 2210 with a tiller that tills 45" wide. I can see 50" but anything bigger than that will be alot for a 2210/2305

I'm running a 48" Tiller on my 2210. I would stick with the 50" tiller you have now. The biggest tiller JD recommends for the 2305 & 2210 is a 48".

I have the RTA 1050 Landpride, 50" and it works great, and would not consider anything bigger.

I've used a 62" on my 2210 on areas that were tilled the previous year with no difficulty. Never tried it on undisturbed areas but with the soil we have I certainly would have tried it. If you have more clay type soil then I would be concerned.

Since tillers can run into some pretty good $$$ you might want to get the answer for yourself by renting one and trying it.
