Was using my tractor today with a heavy landscape rake which generated my need to want to comment about the experience. Admittedly, I am a rookie using the rake but I was pretty disappointed in the lack of sensitivity in the lever used to raise and lower the 3pt hitch. Specifically, I am referring to the length of travel that lever must go before you hit that sweet spot of raising or lowering the implement. I was using the rake to do some rough leveling of excess grit we had in the aisle way of our barn and later to do a similar task with some excess granite screenings in our gravel driveway. I got the job done but not without some frustration. While I have been very happy with this little tractor overall, I am pretty disappointed in this lever mechanism. Noticed it while using a phd as well but not as bad as with the rake where I guess I was making many more adjustments in the height of the implement.
By the way, this tractor has less than 20 hours on it, purchased last fall.
Kinda reminds me of the throttle handle on an Bayliner boat I used to have. I thought the same with it's sensitivity or lack of through the range of the lever. The difference being the Bayliner was not known for great quality but Deere supposedly is.
Just curious if this is typical on all JD tractors.
