SNOW, BOY DID WE GET SNOW!! got 19 inches dumped on us friday. Nieghbor with 2210 identical to mine except he has TURF tires and a cab, and I have the hdap's "snow tires". Clearing snow with our buckets neighbor got stuck at least three times that I heard of requiring a 4wd pickup to pull him out each time. Me? with my hdap's didn't get stuck even once. and I was very aggressive pushing that white stuff around. btw; it took me four hours to clear my 150' drive and in front of three car garage and my patio, pushing tons of snow out into the field and piles 5' high everywhere. that was kinda fun. I think neighbor guy was out for over 5 hours with similar area but I don't know how far he pushed it. Kinda wish I'd gone for a blower with my package now...but then snow like this comes once every 25 years. during "work" the front grill on my 2210 was completely covered with ice except for a couple inches on each side but she never got hot. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

mego,

Here in N.E. we've had our fill of storms of the century. I can't imagine having to use a plow as a primary snow moving implement -- where would you push it all? But in spite of that, even with a long driveway with slope issues and turf tires, I never once got stuck...

Okay, it was a big storm for HERE. We don't usually see more than about 4 inches at a time. this year has been pathetic.

Here in Vermont, I have been waiting all winter for a storm. The snow never came until 2 weeks ago. Then we got 2 storms in one week (9-10" each). My neighbors, who live on my road, said they found it very funny how I could not stop plowing. I've been waiting all year for snow, I wanted to have FUN! And yes... plowing with that little popsicle stick (called a "Front Blade") would be impossible with 19".

Does you neighbor have tire chains on the rear of his 2210????
With my Turf Tires, Chains and the Ballast Box full... nothing stops me at all.

Post some pictures of the snow if you have any. I like to see the 2210 in action.

Two years ago when I first got the 2210 we had a big snow storm and I kept getting stuck. I think it was the user and not the turf's. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif This year we had so much snow a few times that the FEL couldn't lift it over the banks any more. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif That was fun. The last big storm we had the snow was so wet a bucket full was about all the 2210 could lift. I always run into weight problems with this fun little toy way before I run into tire issues.

Sorry I was having so much fun I forgot to take pics. The poor little green was all white, ice on the grille, wheels packed full of snow. Snow on the hood...

Great snow, huh? I am near Rochester MN, and we received about the same as you (18 or so ") . This was the first real serious trial of my new homebuilt snowblower, so it was extra fun for me. The blower handled the snow with no problem, even re-blown snow, and road-grader snirt, and crushed rock and 2" landscape rock. About the only thing I didnt run through it is the dog, although she was way too close (five feet away) once. Last year I moved all the snow with the loader and what a nice difference the blower makes. No piles, all the snow is spread out. Speed is incredible compared to loader. My blower is a 58" wide single stage. Impeller/auger assembly is 15 inch diameter spinning at 1050 rpm, and it weighs 120 pounds (impeller alone). Impeller tip velocity at PTO speed is about 4000 feet per minute. It throws heavy snow about 40 feet. Light snow spreads out too much to go quite as far. The chute rotates hydraulically, I built the mechanism copied from the little pictures in the JD owners manual for the 47 blower. Rotation was supposed to be about 200 degrees, but due to a miscalculation it rotates more like 300 degrees. Actually that is very handy though as I approach the road I can toss it backwards a bit to avoid tossing the snow and rocks at cars going by. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif The whole blower now weighs about 350 pounds and is lifted and powered by the John Deere 4100 with Quick-tach front hitch they sell for their 47 snowblower and rotary brush. I think it is rated to lift 400 pounds, handles my blower just fine.

I was down at the mother in law's pushing back her banks. She stayed on top of it pretty well but her little 300 series and 54" blade were no match. She's down near Black River falls/Hatfield right on the edge of the dark heaviest band. Being in the woods didn't help much either except for drift elimination. It was pretty deep all over. I don't think they giot upper teens worth, but it was plenty.

Snow gets a tad deep here in upstate too.... This was my 4110, I have since upgraded to a 4210 with a JD blower.
