Long story short.... I've been hashing the two tractors over far toooo long /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif . One of the things that bothered me on the 2305 was the lighter rated axles. According to the JD site, the 2305 axle specs are rated at approx 1/2 the capacity of the 2210. Sooo, I picked up the phone today and talked with a JD rep. After finally convincing them that the new specs didn't make sense when comparing to the 2305's predecessor... They cross referenced part #'s as I originally asked them to do. And.... part #'s are identical on the 2 tractors as I hoped & suspected. I'm not sure why they would change the axle ratings but apparently that is what they've done. Maybe to make the larger tractors appear to be that much heavier duty for potential buyes???? Don't know. However it's somewhat of a relief to find that they didn't lighted up the axles. Outwardly the tractors look similar... but you never know what's inside. I may check back with another rep to confirm this... Thought this was interesting info to share...

JD might have de-rated - that is lowered the rating - due to failures reported on the 2210...
...but being Deere it's just as likely you're seeing a typo in some Deere literature. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I do like Deere's tractors, and I appreciate the amount of information they make available on the net, but man do they really need to staff up a proofreading department. Any time you read a Deere spec that just doesn't feel right - or is a make or break in your purchase decision - track down as many sources of info you can and see if one number is the odd man out.
Case in point - I have literature for my 4710 that listed drawbar (verticle) ratings that seemed way too low. After enough digging I figured out that the printed numbers were from the *small frame* CUTs. Talk about cut-and-paste. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Good question. One of those things that makes you go hmmmmmm.
Very similar to the hydraulic ratings on the old 316 to 430 series garden tractors when they all used the exact same transmissions and charge pumps and every part number is exactly the same inside and out. I'm still trying to find this one out since somebody mentioned it in a post I started about my 430 a few weeks ago and I know these transmissions, I just rebuilt another one today for a guy from Canada. Only takes me about 2 hours to put all new seals and bearings in one now once the tranny is out. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Not just Deere. The Agco brochure shows their ST33 has a turning radius of 98 feet, using the turning brake! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
