My Yanmar 2210 signal light don't work .They did not work when I got it.Now I am working on them .When I hook them up the right one stayed on all the time .when I hook up the left one it will blow a fuse.I took the signal light switch out and put a ohms meter on it and it worked. now what I need to know dose the power go to the switch first or the flasher first. And it has a wire that comes from the fuse to the fender on the left that is hot all the the time .

Is yours wired like this? (YM240 diagram, about the same age as that YM2210).

From a design standpoint, I'd say the flasher would always be between the battery and the turn signal selector switch. Otherwise you'd have to have a separate flasher for each light.

Thank you all for your help. My signal work's now. Ok now can I cut the wire B that is Green / White .And spliced a wire to it and go to a toggle switch .Then come off the toggle switch and go to 1 that is green / Yellow and 2 that is Green / red . That way when I turn the toggle switch on it will by pass the turn signal switch .And make 1 & 2 hot .would that give me flashers on my tractor.

Just jumper 1 and 2 together. That way whenever you turn on the signal switch both sides will flash.

Put a switch in the jumper. Closed = flash both. Open = flash one.

Can't verify the wire colors, but if you install a single pole toggle switch in parallel with the selector switch that feeds both lights, you are going to get a "back feed" situation that will flash both lights anytime either light flashes. You can either use a double pole toggle switch with each light on a separate pole or you can insert diodes into the wires going to the lights to prevent the "back feed". Then toggle on would flash both lights, toggle off would let you select either light individually with the selector switch.

A switched jumper between the two lights would allow both lights to flash simultaneously, but would require two switch actions - toggle on then turn on either turn signal. Using a double pole switch would let you turn on the flashers with only the toggle switch. Your choice, but if you are going to buy and install a switch, might as well get a double pole switch and make it more convenient to operate.

Understand that using the toggle to flash both lights simultaneously will double the amperage through the flasher. Depending on its electrical rating, that may or may not damage the flasher, but it will almost certainly change the rate at which the lights flash.

OK looking at the diagram that California put on here I see now . jumpers off the bottom of the toggle switch would let it back feed. ok now I see what I have to do. ( I think )
