Riding past the local dealer yesterday and there it was. I went past it before I knew it and turned around and it was gone, like a vapor. Seriously, I got a pretty good look at it before the semi, that was carrying the 2210 and two other machines on a flatbed, pulled away. Funny how I've only seen this thing on a flatbed in pictures and now on a flatbed in real life.

While I was there I looked at the X-series and 4000 series tractors to get perspective while the 2210 was fresh in my eyes. And I may be proved wrong later by the specs(if Deere ever makes them clear to the public) but the X485 looked bigger and beefier. So what's the big deal with the 2210? Will it feature a backhoe? If not what is it's purpose or niche? If the 4010 can't take a bh why the 2210?

Why so much hype is attributed to this machine I'll never know. So I go in to get the lo down from the reps inside...
Talked to the salesman and he knew nothing and had no info on it. This was the first one he had ever seen.

(Doesn't other companies like Kubota for example, meet with their dealers to discuss new models? I know Kubota did with the BX1500).
He did say this 2210 came from up North (Illinois tag on the flatbed) and was heading to Florida. Could there be just one 2210 in existance and JD keeps hauling it around to fairs and tractor shows? hehe.

The salesman actually was ticked off at JD for the upcoming 100 series lawnmowers to be carried by Home Depot. Said that JD were selling them to HD for less than HE was getting them. WOW! Talk about cutting your support system off at the head! To quote him "They (John Deere) don't have clue to what they're doing"

They may have to apply to sell them and when they do they have to go to shool usually. I know my NH dealer just took on the TJ line and they had to order in over $4k worth of special tools as well as filters, belts and such like along with having to go to school when it comes up shortly to learn about these machines. It cost them over $10k just to be able to put one of these machines on their lot. My dealer doesn't know much about the TJ and doesn't even know the models in the line because they have never had to sell them or worry about them. If JD is just about to release the 2210 they may have a dealer intro coming up soon that will inform their dealers about it.
