OK looks like I have a u joint issue with my tractor, the drive shaft ujoint I believe is going south on me, Vibrations at random times, a bit of clunk from time to time
Got under her and can see it , and I actually see a grease fitting but no way to get to it. I cant see the front u joint:ashamed::mad: so not sure about that one
So it looks like I could access these from the top , but looks like I need to remove the deck
so the questions
How to remove deck, do fenders have to come off? What about deck lift hieght knob- can see how that comes off?
Will I be able to access front and back u joint with deck off?

Looks to be a big job , I searched but did not see a DIY?

Manual link? or purchase ?

I need to adress this , it does seem to be getting worse?
Thanks in advance

Are you talking the drive shaft of the tractor, or the drive shaft of the mower deck?
I assume the one between the tractor engine and tranny.

The deck comes off easily with two connections (pins) that attach to the rear of the deck, after the front bail (draft) has been lowered. Then the mower deck drive shaft is removed and the deck pulled out (which deck do you have? ). Don't have to fret with the fenders or the lift height knob, I'm sure.

What is the history of the 2210? new or new to you? Hours on the machine?

Getting the deck off will help isolate the vibration to either the deck or the tractor.

I have a 2004 2210 with 660 hours, bought new in the spring of '04. Any vibrations I've had were in the mower deck, usually unbalanced blades. One time it was a piece of wood that had gotten wedged into one of the sheaves.
I use my 2210 hard mowing and snow shovelling. I had the hydro pedals bind from dry bushings due to moisture from the white stuff. I changed the hydro oil and filter a couple times. Never done much to it. Still running the original battery.
Never did manage to even locate the engine to tranny shaft much less lube it. I lube everything else often, the front steering, etc.
The mower deck is due for new skid wheels. On my third set of blades.

sorry , more info, isolated vibration to drive train, not mower deck or other , when I push on engine drive shaft I get movement in the u joint where the tranny fan is located, that I believe is my issue. Mower deck is off, talking now about floor board and fenders, seems like I got a bit of work ahead of me, any DIY 's or step by steps out there

Getting the tech manual, if you don't already have it, will be very helpful if taking on this task. But should be able to go after the problem and remove what is in the way as you go. The tech manual may make those steps easier.
