I have a 2185. When mowing it will run fine then all of a sudden it will idle down (not stall or even sound like its going to stall), after 30 seconds or so, it will idle back up. Or sometimes you have to shut the deck off, then turn it back on and it will be fine for awhile then do it again. If I am mowing for about 3 hours, it will probably do it 4 or 5 times. It really doesn't seem to be a fuel problem, but I am not sure.

Plugged gas cap vent maybe? If you can, see if you see air/bubbles in the fuel filter when it bogs down.

It does not have a clear fuel filter. I changed the filter and will just go ahead and get a new cap, and give it a whirl. Thanks.

Vapor locking or boiling fuel? Make sure fuel lines are not near anything hot.

If it has a Kohler engine, Kohler's have shown to be super sensitive to the type of fuel filter being used. I've read where owners had fuel starvation issues with aftermarket fuel filters. Stick with an OEM fuel filter if you can.

Well, I am still having the same problem. I have replaced fuel line (some area's looked bad). Made sure I tried to keep it away from hot areas, but it feeds right beside the oil filter and the exhaust is right there also. Tried a different gas cap, changed fuel filters again and still the same problem. I will get an oem fuel filter next. Any more suggestions??
