Jim, Welcome to the forum!

There are literally dozens of possibilities. The steering valve could have blown o-rings and the rockshaft valve can have blown orings. The filter and/or screen can be clogged. The filter relief valve could be stuck open. The transmission pump can be worn out or oil lines in transmission can be cracked. The main hydraulic pump may need rebuilt. If equipped with scv's, they could have internal leakage and be robbing oil from steering and three point. Or if any optional hydraulics are installed, are they designed for closed center hydrauliics?

How long do the hydraulics keep working after you start? Do the three point arms drop immediately after you shut it down? If you start engine when everything is cold, leave it sit and idle for maybe 15 or 20 minutes. Then feel all of the hydraulic components(steering valve, rockshaft housing, scv housing, hydraulic pump, oil lines) Do you feel any heat build up? What areas are warm? Heat is an indication of internal leakage in a component. Give us a little more info and maybe we can narrow it down.

Jim,

Welcome....jd110 is correct to say there are many possibilities of your problem....if it was my unit I'd find someone with a Flowmeter/guage/load valve setup to plumb inline downstream of your pump to rule out possible worn out main pump....at least this would tell you how healthy your pump is...then work downstream if not......

From what you've said so far, worn out pumps will quit when oil warms up.....

Thanks , Im not good when it comes to hydraulics, plus I am real busy now, it sounds like it going to have to go to the shop, I am sure this will hurt the check book.

Hi, i was wondering if anyone knew on a jd 2155 where the 3 point hitch arms connect to the tractor. Is there an oil seal or orings in there, pissing out oil pretty good.

There are seals there as well as bushings. There is a shaft that goes all the way through the housing that you slide out to change seals. Be sure to lower the hitch all the way and place the load and depth lever in "D" or "MIN" before removing the shaft. Also drain all the oil first. I would recommend removing sump screen and cleaning it at the same time.

Worn out front pumps on those Deere's is not a problem. What happens is either the transmission hydraulic circuit is not delivering enough oil to the front pump. Or there is a leak in the high pressure hydraulic system that the transmission and thus the front pump can not keep up with.
Is there a loader or anything connected to the tractor.
Does the power steering work while the rockshaft is in it's lowest position?

This is for the lower arms, correct? Is this different then a JD 2030? When I did my seals, I did NOT remove the shaft. I only slid it in far enough to change the seal then slid it back out. I did not drain the oil and lost very little doing the job.

All the Dubuque/Mannheim utility tractors built between '65 & '92 L/D shaft & mechanisms are very similar.
