2015hst oil change

I am about ready to change oil in my Mahaindra 2015HST and
am confused as to what is the best oil to use. What viscosity should I use for normal use here in Virginia. Do I need to use oil specified for diesel engines? I have gotten conflicting
information and just want to be sure. any input would be a big

crackercap, I'm certainly not an expert but it looks like I am the first to reply. You need to make sure you have a good oil made for diesel engines not gasoline. Now some oils I believe can go either way but you want something for a diesel. If you follow your owners manual it should specify. If you go to Walmart you will find several for diesel engines, (trucks etc). Shell Rotella is popular, sold at Walmart, there is also Delo, and one or two other brands. Ford has there own brand as well. I personnaly have gone to a local parts supplier that does a lot of work and service to trucks and he carried the Castrol Diesel. If you go to any place that is used to servicing trucks/diesel engines they will probably have their own stock as well. You will also hear many people on this forum prefer synthetic oil so you will just have to do your own market analysis and try and decide what is right for you. If you call your dealer he will also have something he can recommend that will honor your warranty, etc. All that said, try to decide what is easy for you to get, how the cost compares with similar oils, how often you have to change it, etc. Sorry if I just confused the issue! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
