Morning gentlemen,

The CEL light on my RX6620 is on and not sure what it means.
I read somewhere that any OBDII scan tool will be able to read the code associated with the CEL light, is this correct?

We lost our local dealer and the closest dealer is now 4 hours away so I have to fend for myself on this one.

Hope you guys can help me out!

From my knowledge, the dreaded cel light coming on is potentially related to a catastrophic failure of the DPF regen system. A sensor has detected, and hopefully wrongly, a fully plugged DFP filter, and is notifying the user of the need for DPF replacement. And that could be very expensive to replace.

Has your tractor been performing regens in a timely manner, and when has your last regen occured. Has your tractor been giving you any alerts during regens, that could be considered an early warning?? Refer to your owners manual on this specific issue.

Also, a fuel rich mixture caused by injector problems can plug the DPF very quickly, leading to the cel light coming on. Read and search on this forum for additional information regarding tractor regens, DPF plugging and the cel light.

If your tractor actually starts right now, I would encourage a manual regen immediately, and running at high RPM (2600 rpm) for 30 mins, to increase that exhaust temperature and burn out the carbon particulates in your DPF. Perhaps doing this may save you a future DPF replacement.

Since I have never actually experienced a plugged DPF and having a cel light coming on, my advice is limited.

Thanks for replying. I've been going over every connector and obvious things I can do myself.
I plugged in an OBDII code reader however, that did not work. I haven't had any issues with the tractor and regular regens have occurred over time while using the tractor.
No other signs of anything going wrong. I don't think the DPF is plugged as the tractor starts and revs up to approx 2500 rpm's.
I think I am experiencing a lack of power but can still operate the tractor in high gear @ 2200 RPM's. From what i've read, if this was a regen problem, I would not be able to get the rpm's up that high. Please correct me if I am wrong...
Thanks

I parked the tractor on level ground and ran it for approx 40 minutes at max throttle 2600 RPM's.
This made no difference with the current condition, I still sense a loss of power (limp) and the CEL light is still on.

I am still researching the issue, if someone would like to chime in please do!

Thanks!

Pujo, What was the verdict of the fire you had back in 2016? https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums...-kioti-rx6620ps-2.html?highlight=#post4573506

Could you have some wiring damage left over thats just now acting up?

The issue with the fire was apparently some kind of rodent nest said the dealer.
Not sure I agree however everything was replaced under warranty and haven't had any issues since.
That was actually my first thought however nothing obvious.
The dealer closed shop last year and no dealer within 200 miles in any direction.

Well glad you encouraged a manual regen, having the tractor up to high RPM and with hot exhaust. That most likely means the CEL light is not related to a DPF emissions issue. Apparently the second most common cause of CEL light is..... bad diesel. Either water or some other contamination is being detected by your engine sensors, and that may also explain the reduced power of the engine.

I know it's a headache, but it maybe wise to drain the fuel tank at the fuel filter, and also drain the fuel filter of all fluids, keeping a watch for water. This is the time of the year to get water in the system. Prime the filter with new diesel, and reinstall. Fill the tank with new diesel, and hopefully that CEL light shuts off and you get full engine power back.

I will do that this morning and see what happens.
Thanks!

There are hundreds of codes that can trip a CEL , just because it’s on doesn’t automatically mean it’s dpf related. The only way your going to know is having a scanner read the code. You can try clearing the code with just about any scanner, it won’t give you the code info but should recognize there is a code and clear it. I’ve done this a couple of times. There are different things the ecu will due depending on what codes are thrown, some will cause a high idle while others will cause a limp mode with a lower max rpm.

I agree and I don't think it's a dpf issue either. I called a local Mahindra dealer and they said they can work on it but can not honor the warranty.
So I loaded it up on the trailer and headed to the Mahindra delaer and now waiting to see wheat the issue may be.
