I think I have my first warranty issue with my 2015.

I found a couple of drops (literally) under the left gear case drain. The hydraulic fluid seems to be seeping from where the outer and inner gear cases are bolted together. This is happening at a rate of 1 or 2 drops every 3 or 4 days. It's only near the bottom couple of bolts, as the top part is all dry.

I'm thinking maybe this happened as a result of when the Woods backhoe subframe bracket was installed. It would seem that the case would have to be separated and re-sealed to be done right.

So here are the questions... ... Is this covered by the warranty, and should I expect to catch any flack since the backhoe is a Woods and not a Mahindra, and wasn't installed by my dealer?

if it is not a backhoe purchased from Mahindra do expect to have trouble with it being covered under warranty if you have an issue related to the hydraulics or something with the installation of the backhoe.

I kinda figured that would happen. It's not a hydraulic issue, because my hoe is on a PTO pump.

There aren't any parts necessary to fix this. Nothing is cracked or broken. It would be just a labor repair. (and an ounce of silicone sealer) It's such a small leak I would actually call it weepage. (WEEPAGE... ... A term made familiar to me during my 10 years of owning a Harley Davidson!!!) Just enough to leave a film on my finger when I wipe it on the gear case.

Reviving an old (really old post) here, but I just discovered the same problem. No backhoe installed, though. I can't see exactly where it's coming from, but I suspect it's starting at the top, and dripping to the left.

Any ideas on what's happening? I will post pix soon.

Is this tractor a hydro trans?

Yes, it's an HST, 2005 coming up on 450 hours.

Is the leak coming from inside the open cavity where you can see the drive shaft? I have seen the hydraulic lines up in the cavity loosen up and leak. You have to split the tractor to get to them and tighten the fittings.

I don't think it coming from the area you've described. I can't see the drive shaft, but it appears to be starting at the area visible from the top.

Turns out that I'm not low on fluid like I first thought, so I'm not as alarmed. I'm also remembering times in the past where under high load I'd get a smell of hot THF. I didn't think to look down or under when it happened, but I will from now on.

I'd still appreciate your thoughts, though.
