The back story I've gotten is Mahindra didn't make fuel tanks with great lining. If the diesel gets any fungus, that eats the tank lining, which exposes the steel to rust. My 2014 4025 has under 260 hours and the tanks developing pin hole leaks. Online research tells me a new tank is about $500, so I'm inclined to go a different direction. I work in the aviation industry and am licensed to repair planes, so I'm thinking I should be able to place a repair patch on the bottom of the tank that will not leak. My plan is to remove the tank, put something like a piece of chain inside and shake it around to remove any rust, flush it out, install my repair doubler, then use one of the products I see online to coat the interior of the tank. Hopefully ending my rust issue. After all this I can guarantee there will always be very clean fuel with additives to prevent fungus and such. The previous owner probably didn't try anything like that. ( I bought the tractor with 200 hours on it)
That痴 my plan. Has anyone done this before? Have any tips or experience? I looked through the old forums but didn't see this topic?
Also anyone know where to get fuel filters less than $50?
