2013 Kubota BX2670 with pallet forks - how much weight will it lift on a pallet?

I have a new BX2670 and tried today to lift a pallet with about 600LBs on it and it would do no more than grunt. Any idea what the maximum pallet weight might be on this tractor / loader combo?

What Front Loader do you have on your BX2670? Detailed lift specifications will be in your Operator's Manual.

The 'short' lift specs for the LA243 Front Loader, which is common on BX tractors are:

Max Lift Height -------------- 71.3"

Lift Capacity @ Pivot Pin----745 pounds

You have to subtract weight of your pallet forks. If the ground is not hard and level you have to subtract more. You have to subtract weight of pallet load is on. Not all your pallet weight is at the loader Pivot Pin, some is cantilevered out in front of the Pivot Pin. So if you estimated your load at 600 pounds, but it is just a little heavier, you are at or over max. (This assumes you have LA243 Front Loader)

Did you have a counterbalance mounted on the Three Point Hitch of your 1,466 pound tractor? ( Weight without FEL) I would guess-timate you need a minimum of 400 pounds counterbalance on the Three Point Hitch to offset your pallet load plus the weight of the FEL, so the rear wheels do not lift. Actual counterbalance requirements will be in your Operator's Manual.

The amount you can lift with pallet forks is a lot less than without. My 1860 won't lift a pallet much more than 300 lbs, but it'll do much better lifting with just the bucket.

I have always assumed that Kubota FEL lift specs do NOT include the bucket, because Kubota has so many bucket options. Also, this seems to calculate appropriately in real-life lifts discussed here. (i.e. George the Beagle, immediately preceding.)

Does anyone know if Kubota lift specs include a bucket, FOR SURE?

This is also a makor issue for me, as I currently have the bxpanded.com bucket forks, which attach to the FRONT of the bucket. With the Kubota OEM Palette forks, they are attached directly to the loader arms at the pivot pin. This makes a very big difference in the lift capacity.

It also depends on where the weight is on the forks. I carried 600lbs of foundation blocks with my Kubota forks(14 block@42lbs each), but I had them stacked as close to the fork carriage as I could. I moved them across my yard. I carried them real close to the ground, but I tested lifting them 3-4 ft off the ground while I was in the garage on nice level ground. I have wheel weights and use 300+ lbs do rear ballast.
