Tractor
2008 Jinma 454
I went to go grab the tractor from the back yard to do an oil change, when i left the back yard i stopped, put it in neutral and set the brake to close the gate. when i climbed back on i put it in gear and nothing, no power making it to the transmission. Pulled the shifters off of the trans to look inside and nothing is happening, with the engine running i can put it into any gear without pressing the clutch, as if the engine was shut down. The PTO works just fine. When i put it in gear and roll the tractor back and forth the gears move like they should but no power going into the trans from the engine besides the PTO. I had headphones on but my music was not up loud at all, i could still hear everything but i did not hear any popping or banging at all. My guess is the clutch came apart or the input snapped but i thought i would have heard something if that were the case. No, i'm not between high and low and everything looks great in the gear box and the high low box. do these clutches disintegrate in an instant? Also i tried adjusting the clutches and one of the 3 fingers was slightly off but they are all pretty close to each other. No shuttle shift I have it in the shop and ready to split it but i thought i better ask the pros and see if anyone has any suggestions or experience with a similar situation. Tractor never works hard, just grade my driveway and mow my yard. 2008 Jinma 454 400hrs

With the trans in neutral and the clutch engaged (not pushed in) if you turn the engine over, can you observe the shaft at the point where it goes through the throw out bearing to see if it turns with the engine?
It would seem that the splines on the driven disk are the weakest point in the system, then the splines on the input shaft either at the clutch disk or the shaft/gear interface inside the transmission. You have already ruled out most everything else. Even though I have never had this happen, my money is on the clutch disk.
The other thing you could check is put the trans in gear and rotate the engine by hand and observe the edge of the clutch driven disk to see if it rotates with the clutch housing. A spot of bright paint across the two for reference marks will help detect a slipping disk.
Either way, I am betting you will have to split it apart to fix whatever let go.
Please let us know what you find and post pictures if possible.
Best of luck to you.

Sounds like to me that one of the High low shifters got knocked into neutral, I have seen it happen many times. I have had customers bring us tractors from 2-3 hours away, when I check all the levers they are embarrassed. Check all the High /low levers. The clutch does not go out from getting off the tractor to open a gate

I definitely tried that first and took the cover off to look inside to make sure the shift fork wasn't broken. the trans input is not turning past the clutch. pto works, but the main shaft isn't spinning. Im out of town for a few weeks for work but I've ordered a main and pto clutch disk because it was cheap and i'll split it apart when I get home to check it out. I appreciate your reply Tommy, I know you're a legend in this market.

I Split the tractor today and in fact it was the clutch disk center broke out. I will be ordering a disk from you. Let me be 100% honest and maybe it will help others to not make my same mistake. I ordered a disk From aliexpress because I got both disks for a pretty good price shipped but, that was 3 weeks ago and its still in china and now i'm doing what I should have done originally and order from affordable. Lord please bring me a clutch disk quickly haha.

Hindsight is 20-20.You also could have had it shipped FedEx Express or DHL Expedited and had it in three days from China. But I don't have to tell you what that would cost. That's why Affordable is affordable.

bolted the clutch back together with 1/4 20 bolts and nylocks, what do i have to lose lol. grass is growing to fast to not try it. if it fails, i'll have a clutch ready to go.
