2007 Jinma leak at RF wheel

Hey guys! I have a couple problems with my 284 and hope you can give me some advice. My Jinma has 635 hrs. and last week I noticed oil on the shop floor by the right front wheel. The oil seems to be coming past the felt seal. I checked the oil level and it was overfull (which leads to another question: How is the level to be checked? With the dipstick screwed in or resting on top of the casting.) Anyway, I took about a quart of oil out of it and now the level seems to be approx. in the center of the axle shaft (as measured with a wire). Could this be a matter of too much oil or should I be looking at replacing seal # 29 and # 30 as shown in the parts diagram?

Also, there is about 3/16" of endplay at the wheel hub. Is there a way to adjust that or is it a matter of wear in the bearings and/or gears?

The dipstick should sit on top of the hole not screwed in, its time for the seal replacement, also replace the felt seal while you have it apart.we have any part you may need and ship to Canada all the time

x2 on replacement. Do both sides. I won't go so far as to say there's a high failure rate. But one heck of a lotta Jinma owners have reported the same issue here.

Thanks for the info., Tommy and Greg. What about the end play at the RH hub? Can this be adjusted? I presume that I would have to put in some shims. Would this then affect the gear clearance? I guess I'll know more when I take it apart. Thanks again.

Hi,

Have done both LH and RH side on mine. Greg referred me to the Ranch hand site which shows it all in pics. Maybe an hour each side. Jinma Dealer, Wood Chipper , Compact Jinma Tractors

I found the seal on one side difficult to get out but a few taps with a screwdriver got it.
