I am moving and have been offered, by the current owner of the house, a 2006 Cub Cadet 20 hp, 46 in, for 1600. It also includes a push mower and trimmer. I was thinking that is high, since the same mower is offered for 1700 now. He says he paid 2100 for it last August. anyone have any ideas? It is just an acre and flat terrain, so I am thinking of just buying a cheaper one or a brand new Cub Cadet for just a little more. Thanks.

What is the model number of the tractor?

Some push mowers can be pretty pricey. I've seen them as cheap as $100 and as expesive as $900. Depends on the make, what knid of engine, and what the deck is made out of. I have a JD push mower that has a 21" magnesium deck, it lists for $609--the new ones have aluminum decks. Line trimmers are the same way.

Might be a good deal if you look at the package. Can you give a little more info?

Unfortunately I don't have any more info. and I don't have the guys phone number.

I know it's not a zero turn, but other than that, nothing. Thanks for the help.

If it's not a zero turn then the only 46" deck with a 20 hp motor would be a LT1045. Not a bad tractor but I don't think I would pay $1600 for it.

I'd pass. They're not a bad small tractor, but new ones don't sell for much more than that. Resale on small lawn tractors isn't usually very good, so I wouldn't think about it unless the price came down quite a bit.
