Today I was slashing the paddocks and I noticed the Temperature guage was a little higher than usual. It is relatively cool (25C) so I drove home and lifted the hood and noticed what appeared to be a piece of plastic. Turns out it was a fan blade and there were 3 blades missing. The other 5? all had sections missing. I thought maybe a stick may have found its' way in there, but, no. I grabbed one of the other blades and it just crumbled in my fingers. It appears that age has caught up with it. I need to find a new Fan for it. Luckily no harm done. It didn't damage the radiator thankfully.
15 years is OK I guess but I (retired mechanic) have never see a fan blade crumble like that before.

Interesting.
Back in late 90's Kubota had problem with fan blades cracking in their smaller B model.

I seem to remember others having similar problem. Remind me to check mine

I will keep that one in mind. I will try local first but I wonder if old stock may be partly deteriorated due to age?
Interested to see what our Local Dealer can do first.
Thanks for the link. Even with freight the price is not too out of this world.

There are 2 different fans. One is a 6 blade and the other a 7 blade like username taken has posted. Mine is the 7 blade and it appears the curved tips are the modified version.
I have ordered one through the local very helpful dealer and it will take about 3 days from Melbourne by road. He offered to get it flown up but I am in no hurry. Far too hot to be on a tractor slashing and spraying at the moment.

New fan fitted. Radiator had to come out to get to it.
New fan is the same as the one in User name takens link.
AU$61.20 and no freight so very happy with the price but coolant, fan belt and hose came to just over $100. Only to be expected after 16 years I guess.
