Hey Everyone!

I knew I would be on here sooner or later.

Have a problem that Started today. Yesterday, I parked my 2005 TC55DA with EHSS with no problems. Today, out of nowhere I started it and it would not go in forward or reverse. All the hydraullics worked. Bradco backhoe worked, just wouldn't go into gear. I checked the fluids and they were fine. I turned off the tractor and turned back on. Went into gear just fine. After running it awile "while in motion!" it stopped. Didn't turn off or anything, just quit moving. What in the world is going on??? Went outside tonight just to see if I could get it to the shop, and it moved. Parked it in the shop and let it sit and warm up, sat in the seat put it in gear....Nothing... Is there some kind of safety switch somewhere trying to tell me something???

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

It sounds like the inching pedal adjustment . There is a section in the manual about this . There also is a controll box some have had to have replaced in the older units.

Also when you leave the seat the is a operator presence system you have to press the inching pedal when returning to the seat to activate the transmission. The seat switch could posably be bad or have a bad connection.

Hey Fellas, thanks for the reply. I appreciate the help. I looked over the manual last night that came with the tractor and didn't come across the inching pedal adjustment. Does someone have a picture or could assist me in checking and/or adjusting it. I looked at the seat switch and that looked ok, meaning didn't see any wires burnt or clipped. Strange it seems to only do this after it is warmed up.

My manual shows the adjustment for the inching pedal cable adjustment on page 3-34 . There is also some threads on the mater . Search for them under tc55 . Mine so far has worked flawless .Mabe Rick could key in on this in the NH section .

Thanks FullPull! I'll check again when I get off work. I'll do a little research as well.

Hey FullPull,

I checked on the inching pedal adjustment yesterday. Very "interesting" how the manual shows you how to check it. Needless to say very confusing to me.

So looking at the cable, I slid the rubber boot down from the cable and noticed the cable was splintered at the top. I think this was causing the cable not to go back in all the way. Anyway, once I cut the splintered portion off and sprayed some lube up in there, I could not replicate the problem last night. I turned it off and on, rode laps around the barn, High, Medium, low, going through gears, forward, reverse... Would not happen! I'm still petrified that it's going to happen when I need it the most.

Anywho, Just wanted to say thanks a million for the great advice! Hoping it's fixed.

P.S I know I will have to replace the cable soon

do we really need three posts in this section alone about this?

Its good you found the problem you might be on to a first place to look for others with the ehss. I think you need a PHD to adjust the cable the manual explains it but not in enough detail for the adverage person.
