new holland tc45a
My tc45a started and I ran it for about an hour. shutting it off and starting it several times. I was on my way back to the machine shed when it stopped running by itself. It was if it wasn't getting any fuel. The tank is full. Fuel is getting to the fuel filter and through it. Is there a problem with the electric shut off? Is there a fuse out that is not behind the dash? How do you prime the system other than loosening the fuel lines to the injectors?

Any help would be appreciated.

Rodger, it sounds to me like your seat safety switch is faulty. The symptoms you describe are exactly like the seat switch opening or one of the wires coming loose. When the seat switch is faulty, the engine will die and not restart even though you can crank it over with the starter. The fuel solenoid is de-energized because the tractor thinks you have raised up out of the seat.

With the range selector in "N" and the parking brake set,try to start it. If it starts,it's most likely your seat switch as Jim suggested. If it still won't start, make sure the light blue wire is connected to the fuel solenoid. If that's connected then move on to the fuses and relays. You will need to remove the LH lower cowling to inspect the relays.

It was the button under the seat that was the problem on my 2005 TC45A. It works, but unless there is weight on the seat at all times the tractor shuts off. some how the button needs to be raised because the springs on each side hold the seat up to high. Any movement by the driver and the engine shuts off. I understand the reason for this safety device, but I would like to have the tractor warm up without having to always sit on the seat.

Thank you jim and others who answered my question in solving my problem.

Roger,
you don't have to be in the seat if you set the parking brake. The engine will stay running with the brake set.

If you don't want to deal with the seat switch just pull the plug off the switch and install a jumper wire across the two plug terminals. I got tired of the tractor trying to shut down every time I leaned the wrong way or if I shifted around in the seat. It is a safety feature so if anyone is going to use the tractor that you might worry about not thinking enough about what they're doing, use caution.
