2005 TC30 Engine RPM Issue

My tach is showing that I'm only making 2300 rpm full throttle unloaded/loaded and the idle is slow and rough. I have changed the engine oil, fuel filter, and air filters (no smoke in the exhaust). Fuel from the tank (at the filter) seems to flow ok, although I'm not sure what kind of flow from the tank I should see. Any ideas?

I'm still not sure exactly what happened to my big New Holland but mine did the same thing breifly a little over a week ago now. First the RPM came down to about 2200 or so then it just suddenly died on me. My fuel filters were plugged solid with gel looking junk and they were only a few weeks old. I replaced them and it didn't help. I ended up having to take every fuel hose on it off and blow them out then clean the junk out of the tank.

The two dealer mechanics that came out to help kept telling me I got water in it but it's not possible. There was not even a trace of water anywhere in the system. after I changed the filters. There was just a little bit in the bottom of the old filters. What I am hearing now from several friends of mine with BIG farms and new tractors is there is some kind of reaction going on with the ULSD and the new plastic fuel tanks. I don't know. It does sound like you have a fuel restriction somewhere though. I'd start by checking in your tank and cleaning it out if possible.
On my TD 95, that was easy. Just take off the step and two other bolts and the tank swings down in the front so you can completely drain it.
Then all the hoses are easy to get to also so you can blow them out with air.

I sure hope yours isn't plugged up as bad as mine was.

i often look for binding issues in the linkage, i've had 'sticks' wedged up under my TC40da and had full movement impeaded in my linkage(s).

I was coming back down the highway at 20 MPH a few weeks ago after plowing 20 acres of hardpan dirt and all that dirt jammed my hand throttle real bad when I tried to make the turn into my driveway. It's a good thing I remembered to lock the brake pedals together. All I could do was push the clutch and mash the brakes. It's scary when the throttle sticks wide open!
